Julian Rubiano

District 3-2 Fulton

Hometown: Jacksonville, FL

Graduate Alma Matter: Emory University

What excites you most about the fellowship program: I am most excited to learn skills that I was not able to be exposed to during my time at Rollins School of Public Health.

What do you love most about epidemiology: I think the seeing the impact of what back-end work like coding can have on the overall strategy and logistics of healthcare and clinical practice is something that makes me love epidemiology. Being able to be professionals that can provide context to highly specialized practices has been the biggest gap that I have experienced as a minority here in the United States.

Epi Interests: Harm Reduction, Infectious Diseases, GIS related studies, Hepatitis B/C, Neurodegenerative

Hobbies and favorite pastimes: Music, Swimming, Drawing/Painting

Fun fact: My fun fact is that I have been DJing around the US for about 4 years while finishing my undergraduate and graduate careers. I have played in Jacksonville FL, Atlanta GA, and New York City.
