What excites you most about the fellowship program: I’m excited to have the opportunity to learn from so many experienced epidemiologists and to use the skills I learned in school to do work that helps the community.
What excites you most about working in your assigned health district: Macon is very different from where I grew up and where I went to school, so I am exited to work with the team at the North Central Health District to learn about the public health context in the area, as well as explore everything Macon has to offer.
What do you love most about epidemiology: I love how broad and interdisciplinary epidemiology can be. So many different topics can be studied using epidemiological tools and it really allows you to learn about so many interesting areas.
Epi Interests: Substance Abuse and Emergency Preparedness & Disaster Response
Hobbies and favorite pastimes: I love to explore new places by going to sports, botanic gardens, museums, parks, restaurants, and talking to people to learn about an area. I also love sports and love to attend any type of event that I can.
Fun fact: Before starting this fellowship, I was a preschool teacher!
