What excites you most about the fellowship program: I’m most excited to have the opportunity to bridge the gap between what I’ve learned in the classroom and real-world public health practice. I developed a strong foundation in epidemiology and biostatistics during my MPH, and I’m eager to apply those skills to projects that directly benefit local communities. I’m also excited to learn from experienced mentors and public health professionals. Having that level of guidance as I began my career is something I really value, and I believe that combination of mentorship, hands-on experience, and exposure to a variety of projects will help me grow both professionally and personally.

What do you love most about epidemiology: I love that epidemiology allows you too understand the bigger picture behind health issues. I enjoy looking beyond individual cases to understand larger patterns and factors affecting a community’s health, then using that information to guide strategies, programs, and decisions that can improve health outcomes. It’s rewarding to know that population-level work can ultimately make a real difference in people’s everyday lives.

Epi Interests: Infectious Diseases, Maternal and Child Health

Hobbies and favorite pastimes: I love reading, discovering new coffee shops, and spending time outdoors, especially hiking. My perfect day would be sitting in a mountain cabin with a good book and a cup of coffee after spending the morning on a trail.

Fun Fact: I’ve visited every specialty Chick-fil-A restaurant in Georgia (like the Dwarf House, Truett’s Luau).
